Description:
This course provides an historical overview of the ideas of nature and landscape in Western thought. 'Nature', 'Ecology', and 'Landscape' are treated as cultural constructs, related to specific philosophical, technological, economic, political, and social issues. Many of these issues will be considered as the course of study traces the evolution and transformation of contemporary landscape.
